A furniture designer produces designs or works from existing designs, from a client or design colleague, to produce unique pieces or mass-produced items. Furniture designers need to be able to use computer aided design (CAD) to develop models and prototypes, and also need to understand materials in order to consider cost, durability, safety, and so on.
