An educator is a highly skilled professional who is held to a strict standard of accountability. Certified by the Professional Standards Commission, a teaching license is allows you to teach in public and private school systems. To qualify for your teaching license, you must earn a bachelor's degree from an accredited campus-based or online education program.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of teachers is projected to grow by 479,000 positions through 2016; that's about as fast as the national average for all occupations. Typical coursework for a bachelor's degree and teaching license depends on your particular specialty, but can include language and literacy, statistics, world history, and natural sciences. Popular career tracks for students with these college degrees include K-12 teacher, special education teacher, graduation counselor, department head, and assistant administrator.
