Bachelor Degree: Counseling Degree and Programs

Counselors help people overcome physical or mental challenges to live happier, more productive lives. They may work in schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, career placement offices, or correctional centers. Bachelor's Degree: Counseling

While many states require that counselors hold master's degrees, a bachelor's degree may prepare you to work as an administrative or research assistant, group activity leader, or resident advisor. Some states may also allow practicing counselors to have only bachelor's degrees, as long as they have taken the appropriate counseling courses.

A bachelor's degree program in counseling may include study in school counseling, gerontology, marriage and family therapy, career counseling, and substance abuse or rehabilitation counseling.
