Question:
What do psychologists study?

Answer:
Psychologists study all sorts of material related to the human mind, emotions, disorders, family systems, organizational systems and more.  There are many kinds of specialties for psychologists.

Clinical psychologists study a number of courses related to the individual and include both normal development and pathology. Some classes would include abnormal psychology, the life span, adult psychology, child psychology, diagnosis and assessment, and much more. They will also have studied group dynamics and behavior.

Many other areas of applied psychology exist. Forensic psychologists also know a lot about the law and the court room. School psychologists work with an educational setting and do testing and educational plans. Organizational psychologists work within corporate or institutional environments, helping the entire organization to function more effectively.

Sports psychologists help athletes with performance and industrial psychologists create tests for the workplace.

Typically, a psychologist has completed a doctorate and the requisite internship training, as well as post-doctoral hours. Clinical psychologists must also take and pass a state licensing exam in order to practice therapy and do testing.

In addition, there are  psychologists who do experiments and research. As you can see, there are many professional paths available for one who is interested in the field of psychology.
