Question:
Are there any LPN Online programs? I have my B.S.H.S. degree and I have worked in the medical field for 30 years. I want an online degree/diploma program to become an LPN. Thank you.
Answer:
Hi Emu. If you are interested in becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN), you may certainly take online nursing courses, with the exception of hands-on classes and clinical practice in various facilities. Your bachelor of science in health science (BSHS) gives you a good background in the scientific aspect of nursing and may exempt you from some courses.
Is there a particular reason you want to become an LPN rather than a registered nurse (RN)? I ask because you already have a bachelor’s degree, which may fast-track you if you choose to get your bachelor’s in nursing (BSN). There are also master’s of nursing degrees (MSN) that are direct entry from any bachelor’s degree, not just nursing. All these programs are available through online education, but, as with the LPN program, because you are not a nurse, you would still have to do some hands-on classes and clinicals.
