I’m 68–How Can I Earn My GED Online?

I’m 68 years old and was unable to finish high school. I’m not looking for a degree or college-level job. I just want to finish something I started. Where can I get a GED online?

Online education is a great choice for you! Many older students who are returning to school after a number of years have anxiety about not fitting in, or about not being able to perform adequately in a classroom situation. Online courses allow you to enjoy more anonymity. Plus, contrary to popular belief, online courses often tend to give you more one-on-one time with instructors, not less. So if you’re unfamiliar with the material, you can work closely with other students or instructors to make sure you thoroughly understand it.

Also, any online search using such terms as ”online GED” or “get GED online” would likely find you several options. However, I would encourage you to consider earning your high school diploma online as opposed to the GED. Employers and colleges tend to look more favorably upon the high school diploma, seeing the GED as a “second-best option.” You may not be looking to earn a college degree or find a job requiring one now, but distance education makes earning your diploma just as easy as earning your GED, and in this economy, you might wish at some point that you had an actual diploma.
