According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in the life sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences are expected to have average growth over the decade ending in 2016 with exceptions for environmental sciences and urban planning, which are expected to have faster than average growth. In 2007, median annual salaries ranged from $50,000 to $80,000 depending on the science specialization.
