This health services program focuses on the research and
administrative aspects of community health, an area encompassing
issues such as environmental pollution, drug and alcohol abuse,
poor nutrition, occupational health, violence, and AIDS. The
health needs of every community are unique in some way. The
community health concentration prepares you to manage
community-based health programs that focus on the special needs of
these groups. As a community health professional, you will
coordinate school health, public health, environmental health
protection, maternal and child health, and the personal health
practices within a given population.
