History Degree and Programs

The study of history is an excellent foundation for many professions, from education to writing, politics, social service, or even the law. Coursework usually includes plenty of reading and literary analysis, as well as class discussions, and some language study (it might even include study abroad). Candidates for history degrees may also be asked to write a senior research thesis.

Careers for History Majors

With career training from a history degree program, you may go on to work as an archivist in a museum or as a middle or high school teacher. However, a broad liberal arts degree like history is welcomed in many areas of business and industry.
