Counseling Career Training

To prepare you for this necessary and fulfilling role, a school counseling program covers substance abuse, child and family dynamics, counseling theory, career counseling, and counseling-related law. Your training will also include an internship or practicum where you practice counseling in a supervised setting, and receive feedback. After you've obtained your master's degree and any necessary licenses, you are generally qualified to apply to school counselor posts.
